Our
West Coast and Southern Alps supported tour covers a spectacular selection
of diverse countryside with the focus on giving you a real chance to
explore New Zealand with the backup of your knowledgeable local driver/guide
and the support vehicle.
This bicycle tour starts from Christchurch where we drive to Moana a small town beside Lake Brunner on the West Coast. We begin cycling with a gradual warm
up over mainly flat riding on the first 2 days as you head through to
the coastal towns of Greymouth and Punakaiki, with their remarkable
limestone formations and stunning beaches.
From Punakaiki you tackle some of the moderate hills that follow for
the remainder of the trip as you cycle through stunning coastal and
ancient forests to the small settlement of Westport.
From Westport we leave the coast and head inland along the mighty
Buller River before crossing the majestic Southern Alps via the natural
thermal springs at Maruia Springs and Hanmer Springs. From Hanmer Springs,
we head back to Christchurch to complete our adventure or continue on
our 10-day [two options] or 13-day supported tours.

Moderate-to demanding route with longer days, averaging 40 to 95kms
per cycling day [25-57miles/day].
Note:- there is the backup of support vehicle if you find the cycling
or weather to demanding
