2 Day (Overnight) Supported Bicycle Tourview of Governors Bay

The route takes you from Christchurch and around the spectacular volcano crater rim for an overnight stay at Governors Bay using a selection of back roads. Throughout the tour you have the backup of a Support Vehicle & driver/ guide to lighten the load, or if you need a rest.

Note: fully guided and off-road tours are available by arrangement.

BRIEF ITINERARY

Day 1
 Christchurch to Governors Bay via a selection of back roads.
Day 2

Diamond Harbour to Christchurch to complete the tour

 

Difficulty

This is an intermediate/demanding level route with an average 40 to 60 kilometres [25-38 miles] cycling per day on farm tracks, sealed and unsealed roads, with a number of demanding hill climbs along the route [support vehicle option recommended for beginner –intermediate riders].

3-day Banks Peninsula Supported Bicycle Tour

Throughout the tour you have the backup of our guides and their extensive local knowledge to assist in bicycle support and route information.

There is also additional backup of a support vehicle to lighten the load or if you need a rest.

 Christchurch to Diamond Harbour/Governors Bay via a selection of farmtracks and sealed backroads.
Day 2

Diamond Harbour/Governors Bay to Akaroa via a selection of single track, farmtracks and sealed backroads.
Day 3 Akaroa to Christchurch via sealed & unsealed backroads to complete the tour
